Privacy Policy

This document is provided in English only.

1. Overview

Chancy is a decentralized sweepstakes protocol on World Chain. We are committed to minimal data collection and transparency about what information exists and where.

We collect no personal information. No names, no emails, no phone numbers, no physical addresses. World ID verification is privacy-preserving by design.

2. What We Collect

Chancy interacts with the following data during normal operation:

  • Wallet address - your public blockchain address, used to identify your entries and distribute prizes
  • World ID nullifier hash - an anonymous identifier that proves you are a unique human without revealing who you are
  • Transaction history - entry purchases, prize payouts, and refunds recorded on-chain
  • Notification preferences - stored locally in your browser if you opt in to push notifications

3. What We Do NOT Collect

  • Real names or legal identities
  • Email addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Physical location (beyond what your browser provides by default to any website)
  • Government IDs or KYC documents
  • Banking or credit card information
  • Biometric data (World ID handles verification; we never see biometrics)

4. How Your Data Is Used

  • Sweepstakes participation: Your wallet address and World ID nullifier are used to verify eligibility and enforce one-entry-per-person
  • Winner selection: On-chain data is read by the Witnet oracle to determine random winners
  • Prize distribution: Winnings are sent directly to your wallet address
  • Push notifications: If you opt in, we send draw results and winner announcements to your device

5. Third-Party Services

Chancy integrates with the following third-party services:

World ID

Identity verification. Proves you are a unique human using zero-knowledge proofs. No personal data is shared with Chancy.

Witnet Oracle

Decentralized randomness provider. Generates verifiable random numbers for winner selection. Reads only on-chain data.

World Chain

The blockchain where all sweepstakes transactions are recorded. On-chain data is public and permanent.

Vercel

Hosts the web interface. May collect standard web server logs (browser type, timestamps). See Vercel's privacy policy for details.

6. Data Retention

On-chain data (permanent): Transactions recorded on World Chain are permanent and immutable. This is inherent to blockchain technology and cannot be altered or deleted by anyone, including us.

Off-chain data (user-controlled): Notification preferences and any local settings are stored in your browser's localStorage. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.

7. Cookies and Storage

We do not use cookies.

Chancy uses localStorage and sessionStorage for preferences and session state. No third-party tracking cookies, no advertising cookies, no analytics that identify individuals.

8. GDPR and Your Rights

Because of our minimal data collection approach:

  • Right to Access: All on-chain data is publicly viewable on the blockchain explorer
  • Right to Deletion: Off-chain data (localStorage) can be cleared by you at any time. On-chain data is immutable by nature of blockchain
  • Right to Portability: Blockchain data is inherently portable and accessible from any interface
  • Pseudonymity: On-chain data is tied to wallet addresses, not real-world identities

9. Children's Privacy

Chancy is strictly for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Use of the Service by minors is prohibited under our Terms of Service.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
